Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport and Hotel Transfer
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will complete immigration and customs procedures before being warmly welcomed by your Tavira Africa Safaris representative.

Known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills,” Rwanda offers a scenic introduction as you drive through Kigali city to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park via Cultural Sites
After an early breakfast, check out and begin your journey to Rwanda’s Western Province, home to Nyungwe Forest National Park.

En route, visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in the Southern Province, offering fascinating insights into Rwanda’s traditional culture and royal history.

Enjoy lunch along the way before continuing through scenic rolling hills and tea plantations to Nyungwe. On arrival, relax and enjoy the peaceful forest surroundings.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk Experience
Start your morning with coffee before heading into Nyungwe Forest National Park for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience.

After a briefing, trek through the dense rainforest in search of chimpanzees and spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat.

Later, enjoy the famous canopy walk, a suspended bridge offering breathtaking views over the forest and opportunities to spot primates and birds.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Colobus Monkey Trek, Tea Plantations and Lake Kivu Experience
After breakfast, return to the forest for a colobus monkey trekking experience, where you will observe large troops of these unique primates and take memorable photos.

Later, drive to Lake Kivu, enjoying scenic countryside views along the way.

Day 5: Lake Kivu Experience and Departure from Kigali
