This 7 day Uganda Wildlife and Primates Safari takes you through some of the country’s most iconic national parks, offering a perfect balance of adventure, wildlife encounters, and breathtaking scenery from north to south.
Your journey begins at Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and one of its most spectacular parks, famous for the powerful Nile River as it squeezes through a narrow gorge to create the dramatic Murchison Falls. Here, you will enjoy game drives in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and many other wildlife species.
Continue to Kibale Forest National Park, known as the primate capital of East Africa, where you will embark on an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience through lush tropical rainforest.
The safari then proceeds to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a diverse ecosystem of savannah, wetlands, and crater lakes, offering excellent game viewing including tree-climbing lions, elephants, and hippos along the Kazinga Channel.
The highlight of your journey awaits in the misty highlands of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will trek deep into the forest to meet the endangered mountain gorillas face-to-face in their natural habitat a truly life changing experience.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide from Tavira Africa Safaris. After a short briefing, begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most dramatic wildlife reserve.En route, stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting guided rhino tracking experience on foot—your first close encounter with Uganda’s Big Five conservation efforts.
Continue your drive with a lunch stop in Masindi before entering the park. Upon arrival, enjoy your first glimpse of Murchison’s vast savannahs, home to lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and many antelope species. Bird lovers can also spot rare species such as the shoebill stork and Goliath heron.
Check in at Parkside Safari Lodge and relax as you settle into the wilderness atmosphere.

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Trip to Murchison Falls
Start your day with an early morning game drive across the northern plains of Murchison Falls National Park. This area offers excellent wildlife viewing, including lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and various antelope species roaming freely.Return to the lodge for lunch before heading out for a scenic boat cruise along the Nile River towards the base of the mighty Murchison Falls. Along the way, enjoy close-up views of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and numerous water birds along the riverbanks.
For the adventurous, hike to the top of the falls where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge, creating one of the most powerful natural spectacles in Africa.
Return to Parkside Safari Lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Day 3: Game Drive and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Enjoy a final early morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park to catch any wildlife you may have missed before departing.After breakfast, begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park, the primate capital of East Africa. Along the way, enjoy scenic countryside views and local villages.
Upon arrival, check in at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge and later enjoy a guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a rich ecosystem known for over 200 bird species and multiple primate species including red colobus monkeys and baboons.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, head into Kibale Forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience. Accompanied by experienced rangers, you will track habituated chimpanzees and spend one hour observing their fascinating behavior in the wild.After the trek, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying scenic views of crater lakes and the Rwenzori foothills along the way.

Day 5: Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Begin the day with a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, exploring the Kasenyi plains in search of elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and other wildlife.Later, continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.
Upon arrival in the Rushaga sector, check in at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge and relax in preparation for your gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing before beginning your gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi’s dense rainforest.Trek through thick vegetation in search of a habituated gorilla family. Once located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing their behavior, interactions, and daily life in their natural habitat.
This rare and emotional encounter is the highlight of your safari experience.
After the trek, return to Rushaga Gorilla Lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 7: Return to Entebbe Airport
