Tour Plan

Day 1: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Musanze

Begin your journey with a guided Kigali city tour, offering a deep insight into Rwanda’s powerful history and transformation. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, a solemn landmark honoring over 250,000 victims of the 1994 genocide.

Continue your exploration through key historical and cultural sites such as Kigali Solaire, Stade Régionale, and the Dr. Richard Kandt Museum, which highlights the legacy of Rwanda’s early colonial history and exploration.

After lunch, travel to Bugesera to visit the Reconciliation Village, where genocide survivors and former perpetrators now live together peacefully, symbolizing unity and healing.

You will also visit the genocide memorial churches at Nyamata and Ntarama, powerful sites where thousands of innocent lives were lost.

Later, continue your scenic drive to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park, where you will check in at your lodge and relax for the night.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, proceed to Volcanoes National Park for your highly anticipated gorilla trekking adventure.

Complete the park briefing and set off into the lush rainforest slopes of the Virunga Mountains in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can be challenging, but the reward is an unforgettable hour spent observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat.

Watching gorillas interact, feed, and care for their young at close range is a truly life-changing wildlife experience.

After the trek, return to Musanze and then continue your journey back to Kigali, arriving in the afternoon or evening depending on trekking duration.
