Tour Plan

Day 1: Mabira Forest, Sezibwa Falls and Jinja Tour

Start with an early breakfast to avoid traffic. Drive to Sezibwa Falls, a cultural site. Learn about the folklore, birdlife, and traditional healing practices. Our guide will explain the significance of the falls. Afterward, head to Mabira Forest for a guided walk through Uganda’s largest rainforest. Explore various forest trails and spot local wildlife.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Depart Jinja early and drive through the Luwero Triangle. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos. The trek lasts 1-2 hours. After lunch in Masindi, continue to Murchison Falls. Check-in for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Ride in Murchison Falls

Enjoy an early morning game drive to see giraffes, lions, elephants, and buffaloes. Look out for birds like the Black-chested Snake Eagle. After lunch, take a boat ride along the Nile to Murchison Falls. Spot hippos, crocodiles, and waterbucks. Hike to the top of the falls to see the river explode into cascades.

Day 4: Murchison Falls – Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, drive to Kibale Forest. Pass through papyrus swamps and jungle landscapes. Arrive at Fort Portal Town before checking into your lodge.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience & Afternoon Bigodi Swamp Walk

Start with a chimpanzee habituation experience in Kibale Forest. Watch the chimps play and interact. In the afternoon, enjoy a 2-3 hour nature walk in Bigodi Swamp. The swamp is home to 200 bird species and 8 primate species. Visit the Bigodi Women’s Project, where you can buy crafts, supporting community development.

Day 6: Visit Amabere Caves & Crater Lakes

In the morning, visit Amabere Caves and Crater Lakes. Amabere G’ Nnyinamwiru Caves have local legends about the Chwezi Kingdom. Enjoy the beautiful scenery around the crater lakes before returning to your lodge.

Day 7: Drive to Semuliki National Park – Morning Game Drive and Visit Hot Springs

Head to Semuliki National Park, known for its hot springs and wildlife. Take a morning game drive to spot local animals. Visit the Sempaya Hot Springs, where water reaches 100°C. You can boil eggs in the springs. Learn about the local folklore surrounding the male and female springs.

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its stunning landscapes. Enjoy scenic views of the Rift Valley. After lunch, take a game drive in the Kasenyi area, looking for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and big cats.

Day 9: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Ride

Start early with a game drive to see buffaloes, lions, elephants, and more. After breakfast, take a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. Spot water birds, hippos, buffaloes, and crocodiles along the shores.

Day 10: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha Sector

Drive to Ishasha, known for its tree-climbing lions. Go on a game drive to look for the famous lions and other wildlife.

Day 11: Ishasha Sector – Bwindi Forest National Park

After a morning game drive in Ishasha, return to the lodge for lunch. Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorillas. Arrive in time for dinner and relax in preparation for the next day’s gorilla trekking.

Day 12: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

At dawn, enter the forest and enjoy its beauty. It is home to more than half of the world’s mountain gorillas. After a briefing, proceed through the dense bush to find the gorillas, depending on where they built their nest. For conservation, you can stay with the gorillas for one hour. Watch them feed and play. If we have a free afternoon, we will take a 3-hour village walk. Observe the local livelihoods, visit a herbalist, blacksmith, and local brewery. Enjoy traditional dances by the community. If we have time, we can visit Bwindi Hospital to see how we can help. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 13: Golden Monkey Tracking

On this day you will participate in tracking the Golden Monkey (Cercopithecus Kandti). These monkeys are endangered. Join a small group of six people. The trek will take most of the day.

Day 14: Batwa Community Visit and Garama Cave

After breakfast, visit the Batwa people. The Batwa are Uganda’s marginalized people, once hunters and gatherers. Enjoy songs and dance demonstrations. You will notice their pride as they perform. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax. Enjoy your evening at leisure.

Day 15: Hiking Mount Sabinyo Volcano

In Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, hike Mount Sabinyo, reaching the third peak. Stand in three countries at the summit. The hike passes through different vegetation zones. On a clear day, enjoy views of Rwanda, DR Congo, and Uganda. This is a challenging hike, so be prepared physically.

Day 16: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale, the second deepest lake in Africa. The name “Bunyonyi” means small birds. Upon arrival, take a canoe/boat ride on the lake. See various birds and 29 islands. Enjoy a peaceful atmosphere and take photos. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day 17: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Drive through traditional villages and enjoy the scenic drive by the rolling plains of Ankole. Stop for lunch in Mbarara before continuing to Lake Mburo National Park. Arrive in time for an afternoon boat ride and evening game drive.

Day 18: Nature Walk and Evening Game Drive

Join a guided nature walk at 7 am, led by park rangers. Walk to the salt lick to see animals drawn to salty rocks. Meet hippos and hyenas along the way. Walk through woodlands and enjoy bird and mammal sightings. Hike to the top of the hill for a great view of the park. Afterward, enjoy an evening game drive.

Day 19: Transfer Back to Entebbe

Take an early morning game drive through the park’s diverse ecosystems. Look out for buffalo, lions, elephants, and more wildlife. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then transfer to Entebbe. Arrive late in the afternoon.

Day 20: Entebbe Tour

Enjoy a relaxed morning before visiting the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC). Learn about animal care and conservation efforts. UWEC rescues and rehabilitates injured wildlife. It educates locals about conservation and biodiversity. After lunch, visit Entebbe Botanical Gardens. These gardens are home to a variety of plants, birds, and monkeys.

Day 21: Transfer to Airport

After a relaxed morning and farewells, transfer to the airport in the afternoon.
