Experience three of East Africa’s most rewarding safari countries on this 15 Days Uganda Rwanda Gorillas and Wildebeest Migration in Kenya journey with Tavira Africa Safaris.
The adventure begins in Kigali and Rwanda’s Virunga highlands, where you trek mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. Continue into Uganda for Lake Bunyonyi, a second gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, wildlife experiences in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park.
The Kenya section includes Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park and the Masai Mara. Depending on the season, the Mara may offer opportunities to see large wildebeest and zebra herds associated with the Great Migration, although exact herd locations and river crossings are never guaranteed.

Tour Plan
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or your Kigali hotel, you will be warmly welcomed by your Tavira Africa Safaris guide. After introductions and a safari briefing, enjoy a guided Kigali city experience depending on your arrival schedule.
Continue north through Rwanda’s beautiful rolling hills toward Volcanoes National Park and check in at your lodge.

After breakfast, transfer to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for registration and ranger briefing before entering the forest with experienced trackers in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.

After the trek, enjoy lunch and a respectfully arranged cultural experience in the Volcanoes region.

After breakfast, cross into Uganda and continue through the beautiful highlands of southwestern Uganda toward Lake Bunyonyi. Enjoy a relaxed boat or canoe experience after checking in.

Continue through the southwestern highlands toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Later, take part in a community-based Batwa cultural experience focused on traditional forest knowledge, storytelling and local heritage.

After breakfast, report to the briefing point and trek through Bwindi with experienced guides and trackers in search of your assigned gorilla family.

After the trek, continue toward Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha sector, keeping watch for tree-climbing lions and other wildlife.

Begin with a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, searching for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, lions and other wildlife. Later, enjoy a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel.

Travel through western Uganda’s crater-lake and tea-growing landscapes toward Kibale Forest National Park. After a ranger briefing, enter the forest in search of a habituated chimpanzee community.

After breakfast, travel from Kibale toward Entebbe with suitable comfort and lunch stops along the route. Check in and relax before the Kenya section of the safari.

Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your regional flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival, meet your safari representative and continue to Amboseli National Park.

Spend a full day exploring Amboseli’s wetlands, open plains and woodland habitats in search of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, antelopes, predators and birdlife.

Travel toward Lake Nakuru National Park in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley and enjoy a game drive after arrival. The park is especially important for rhino conservation.

Continue toward the Masai Mara and enjoy your first game drive after arrival, searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs and leopards.

Spend a full day exploring the Masai Mara. During migration season, your guide will use local information to search for wildebeest and zebra herds. River crossings remain unpredictable and cannot be guaranteed.

Enjoy another full day in the Masai Mara, exploring different habitats and predator territories. An optional Maasai cultural visit may also be arranged.

After breakfast, return to Nairobi. Depending on your flight schedule, your guide will transfer you to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
